This is a tip from a fellow plumber - Phil Castleden in Milton Keynes.
If you have a tap with lots of scale on the spout, to clean it, fill a bag with lemon juice, tie it round the tap and leave it overnight.
Not only does the citric acid in the juice do the job, it also makes the taps spell nice.

That's why having a solid fridge filter is so important! When you have a filter in place, you don't have to worry about cleaning limescale because it won't find its way into your water. I instead just clean the lines that connect the wall to the back of the fridge and all of the parts inside. You can soak those hoses for the best cleaning possible.
